Is it easier to maintain a granite or a stainless steel backsplash in the kitchen over my Viking cook range?
We have granite countertops but I hear stainless steel is a lot harder to keep clean, especially over a range. I want to be sure, however, before I spend the money on granite. Any info will be welcome. Thanks.
Go with the granite. Stainless steel will pick up grease stains from splattering foods, and you run the risk of scraching the metal when you scrub it. The granite cleans easier, and is more forgiving if you clean with an abrasive pad. Also the granite will tie your counter and cook areas together, giving a better appearance.
