If you love cooking and consider yourself a gourmet, you would need gourmet kitchen appliances to help you prepare food the proper way. What distinguishes a gourmet kitchen from an ordinary kitchen? There are two types of appliances regularly found in a kitchen: large appliances and small appliances.
- Large kitchen appliances include refrigerators and freezers, ranges and wall ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, trash compactors, and food waste disposers. Most gourmet kitchens also feature a built-in wine bottle cooler to store the gourmet’s collection of wine. While microwave ovens are smaller than other kitchen appliances, they could not be stored in kitchen cabinets like other small kitchen appliances. Large gourmet kitchen appliances are usually in stainless steel, or in the more modern black or other designer colors, generally built-in, and typically higher-priced than most commercial brands. High-end refrigerators and freezers, as well as dishwashers could also come with custom panel doors. Large gourmet kitchen appliances are sleek in design, more energy efficient, and use modern technology such as electric sensors. In some cases, gourmet kitchen appliances could be purchased in a set that includes a refrigerator with icemaker, a cooking range, an over the range or built-in microwave oven and a built-in dishwasher.
- Small kitchen appliances are generally portable and could be stowed away in kitchen cabinets or storage when not in use. Small appliances include coffee, tea and espresso machines, mixers, food processors, blenders, toasters and ovens, bread machines, and can openers. Small gourmet kitchen appliances include high-end brands such as All-Clad, Breville, Cuisinart, and KitchenAid.
