Cuisinart Parts
Best $400-600 food processor (semi-commercial)?

We're fed up with Cuisinart's "commercial" looking food processors. The plastic on them falls apart after dishwashing for a few times, and then they charge huge $$$ for replacements (plus long wait times.)

we're ready to spend $400-600 on a commercial quality food processor - we want it to be tough and EVERY part of the bowl, feeder and other areas should be dishwasher safe (not the motor of course.)

Ideally it would be all metal and over 10 cups, and easy to get attachments. It does not have to be pretty.

Not going to happen, sorry. Robot Coupe will be suggested. True, it has better quality parts, and will be even more expensive to repair. Also, They have the same plastic trigger pins that break at just the wrong time, every time. I got around this problem in my kitchens (which my cooks used food processors daily for everything from herbed butters to hummus-very high volume restaurant) by doing 2 things. Most important, most cooks blow away the trigger and transmission by not turning the motor off and unscrewing the top of the bowl/feeder assembly Drill them on turning the motor off first and always. This will extend the life of the motor and the trigger pin & spring. 2nd, buy the 11 cup cuisinart built for home use. It will pass health code, cost less than the commercial versions, and, when they break, its easier and cheaper to buy a new one. This will generate spare parts after the first catastrophe. Bed Bath & Beyond and other chain store like it regularly have sales on them, sometimes up to 50% off. Keep a spare in the box on the shelf. You should be able to get them for less than $200 without much of a hassle other than the searches themselves. Carson Pierre Scott, Macy's and other higher end department stores have sales regularly on them. 3 $200.00 11 cup cuisinarts will last longer than 1 $800.00 robot coupe, very safe bet Painful but true,

What have we got, a cuisinart?
